The UNR QSU (Queer Student Union) and Northern Nevada Hopes (an HIV testing/counseling/outpatient/education non-profit) will be hosting an LGBT youth center planning meeting on this Thursday, February 10 from 10:00 .m.* to 3:00 p.m. It will be held at 467 Ralston Street, down the street from St. Mary’s Medical Center.
According to the Facebook event created by UNR QSU, the idea of an LGBT youth center will be discussed. The idea is in the same vein as “A Rainbow Place,” which closed its doors in 2008.
According to the QSU, “Everyone is invited to come and share ideas, weigh the pros and cons, and give their input on this project.”
The idea to be discussed is not related to the Build Our Center program according to UNR QSU’s facebook. The Build Our Center program aims to build an LGBT community center in Reno.
* The meeting was not at noon as originally listed, but rather at 10 a.m.
